The Buffalo News recently reported on a $5.2 million jury verdict obtained by attorneys Michael P. Stuermer and Richard P. Weisbeck, Jr., on behalf of their client who was injured in a workplace accident.
The injured worker was employed as a maintenance aid at Seneca Health Care Center. While on-the-job at the health care facility, the victim fell to the floor after a misstep on a wobbly ladder.
After a three-week trial in New York State Supreme Court, a jury concluded that the owner of the health care facility violated workplace safety laws by providing the maintenance aid an unsafe and poorly maintained ladder. The jury awarded the injured worker $5.2 million for the injuries he sustained as a result of the fall from the unsafe ladder while on-the-job.
