Attorney Amy Keller recently obtained a $95 million jury verdict for her client, a Rochester man, who is the victim of childhood sexual abuse.
In a front-page story, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reported on the significant verdict handed down by a Monroe County jury in this Child Victims Act case. ABC news affiliate WHAM13 also spoke with attorney Amy Keller for their report on this case.
The victim in this case is a 59-year-old man from Rochester, NY. In 1979, when the victim was 15 years old, he met Rev. Foster P. Rogers. In July 1979, Rogers, a Catholic priest at the time, sexually assaulted the victim in his car.
In New York State Supreme Court, the Monroe County jury awarded the victim $30 million for past pain and suffering, $15 million for future pain and suffering, and $50 million in punitive damages.
Following the verdict, attorney Amy Keller discussed her client, stating “he feels vindicated.” Ms. Keller went on to comment “he was really hoping for closure and for vindication through this process.”
