Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria announces Michael Schiavone, chair of the firm’s Business and Corporate Practice Area, has been re-elected to the board of directors of the Fredonia College Foundation.
In addition to his current service on the foundation’s board of directors, Mr. Schiavone served on the foundation board from 2004 to 2012. He was chair of the board from 2010 to 2011. In 2013, the Fredonia College Foundation presented Mr. Schiavone with its most prestigious honor, the Distinguished Service Award. This award is presented biennially in recognition of significant contributions made to society by individuals and organizations in business, government, education, and the arts.
The Fredonia College Foundation promotes, advances, and supports the activities and programs of the State University of New York at Fredonia by administering resources and supervising the investment of philanthropic funds and other revenue for the university. The foundation’s board of directors oversees the foundation’s activities.
Mr. Schiavone graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a B.A. in 1978 and earned a J.D. from Syracuse University in 1981. He is a senior partner at Lipsitz Green with over 30 years of experience providing legal guidance to businesses. Mr. Schiavone concentrates his practice in the areas of sports law, business law, commercial real estate, and estate planning.
Mr. Schiavone has earned many of the legal industry’s top peer recognitions for legal ability and professional ethics, including being named to Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers and earning the highest possible rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
